Zone Resources Resource List

A shadowy and mysterious region Ghostlands is a level 10-20 zone bordering Eversong Woods. Vengeful phantoms and other undead plague this zone and  as such a big part of your questing experience will be addressing this problem. The forest troll 10 player instance of Zul’Aman (70+) can also be found in this zone.  Ghostlands is the only one of the various Horde starting zones that saw no changes in Cataclysm, so leveling here could prove to be a tedious experience especially for those who have completed the quests here more than once.
Unlike other zones Ghostlands is  unique in the aspect, that while there are several quest hubs available, you'll want to  be sure you complete the quests before they become to low level to provide any real use. Much like the spokes on a wheel the quests hubs radiate out from a central quest hub (Tranquillien) and can and should be completed simultaneously.
Tranquillien is the first quest hub you will encounter on your journey in to Ghostlands with the quest “Delivery to Tranquillien” which should have been obtained in Eversong Woods. Upon arriving you will likely notice that very few quests are available, however this will change drastically once your reputation with Tranquillien has reached Friendly which usually occurs after completing one or two quests in the zone.
When a Friendly reputation is reached the first of the breadcrumb quests “Help Ranger Valanna” unlocks leading players on a quest chain that will eventually bring them to the Farstrider Enclave. Be sure to pick up and complete the quests here and the ones from Tranquillien based on level appropriateness. The information related to these two quest hubs can be found below:

Tranquillien

  • Location: See Zone Map (1)
  • Total Number of Available Quests: Thirty-Two
  • Elite/Group Quests: Wanted: Knucklerot and Luzran/Anok’suten
  • Tip: This quest hub contains the only flight path in the zone, be sure to grab it or you will find yourself regretting it later!

Farstrider Enclave

  • Location: See Zone Map (2)
  • Total Number of Available Quests: Eleven
  • Elite/Group Quests: None
After completing the quest line related to the Underlight Mine, players will be presented with the breadcrumb quest “Underlight Ore Samples” which needs to be turned in at the final quest hub in the zone, the Sanctum of the Sun. Once again pick up all available quests and complete them along side the other quests remaining from Tranquillien and Farstrider Enclave preferably doing the easiest (lower level) quests first.

The Sanctum of the Sun

  • Location: See Zone Map (3)
  • Available Quests: Eleven
  • Elite/Group Quests: The Traitor’s Destruction
  • Tip: Along the road from Tranquillien to the Sanctum of the Sun lies the Andilien Estate, here is a single quest giver known as Apprentice Vor’el who gives the quest “Clearing the Way’. While this quest spawns no additional quests or gives any special rewards the quest is easy and any extra experience should be welcome. For this reason players should be sure to stop and pick it up

Other Ghostlands Quests

Some quests found in the zone are just a little of the beaten path. Even though you will most likely stumble across them while you quest throughout the zone these quests have been listed below as well as added to the zone map (displayed as an exclamation point) above for your convenience.

  • “Escape From the Catacombs” - Escort Quest found in the Amani Catacombs.
  • "Forgotten Rituals" and "Vanquishing Aquantion"  - Found on the small island in the water between Dawnstar Spire and Suncrown Village.
  • "Underlight Ore Samples" - Quest Giver is found on the cliffs surrounding the Underlight Mine.
Of course nothing can be easy in the Ghostlands and fitting that theme is the apparent lack of a breadcrumb quest found in the zone to take players onward. All hope is not lost though, as the quest chain beginning with the quest “The Traitor’s Destruction” found in the Sanctum of the Sun, will eventually lead players to the Undercity where they will be able to pick up the quest “Warchief’s Command: Hillsbrad Foothills” from the announcement board. Now all that’s left is to make the long journey to reach this destination and continue your questing adventure.

The second zone option in Eastern Kingdoms for players in the levels 10-20 range is deep within the ancient wood of Silverpine Forest. Bordering Tirisfal Glades Silverpine is a haunted place steeped in eternal gloom. Once belonging to the Alliance, Silverpine was affected by the plague of undeath spread by the Lich King. Now the zone is under the control of Forsaken forces, however, this claim is hotly disputed by the wizards of Dalaran and other members of the Alliance.

More pressing than the problem with the Alliance are the pockets of mindless undead still lingering here, and the Worgen whos presence has grown since the Forsaken attacked their homeland of Gilneas after the fall of the wall separating the two zones. Silverpine Forest is also home to the nortorious Shadowfang Keep, which has been completly revamped with new encounters with the release of Cataclysm. Shadowfang keep can be completed in both normal (levels 11-20) and heroic (level 80+).

While there appears to currently be no breadcrumb quest resulting from other quests leading from Tirisfal into Silverpine, players simply need to pay a visit their local Warchief’s Command Board (available in most major cities) where they will find at level 9 and above the quest “Warchief’s Command: Silverpine Forest”. This quest will effectively lead the player to their first stop in Silverpine Forest, Forsaken High Command. Here they will meet with the Dark Lady herself and learn more of her shaky relationship with the new Warchief as well as her rather unorthodox methods of creating new Forsaken.

Forsaken High Command

  • Location: See Zone Map (1)
  • Available Quests: Nine
  • Elite/Group Quests: None
  • Tips: You will come across your first flight path in Silverpine forest at this quest hub. Don’t forget to pick it up!

After taking out Murlocs and Worgen alike you will be sent on to the next stop on your journey through Silverpine, the Forsaken Rear Guard, with the quest “The Warchief’s Fleet”. Here you will help the Dark Lady discover the cause for an Orcish fleet’s crash landing.

Forsaken Rear Guard

  • Location: See Zone Map (2)
  • Available Quests: Eight
  • Elite/Group Quests: None
  • Tips: Second quest hub, second flight path. Don’t miss it!

Instead of moving on from the Forsaken Rear Guard, once you have completed the quests here you will be sent back to the Forsaken High Command to report your findings and astounding successes to Lady Sylvanas with the quest “Orcs are in Order”.

Forsaken High Command (2)

  • Location: See Zone Map (1)
  • Available Quests: Two
  • Elite/Group Quests: None

Your second tour at the Forsaken High Command will be brief and soon you will find yourself sent on your way to the Sepulcher via the quest “Lordaeron” with the Dark Lady as your escort. Queue cut scene filled with Forsaken lore in 3...2...1...

The Sepulcher

  • Location: See Zone Map (3)
  • Available Quests: Nine
  • Elite/Group Quests: None
  • Tips: Not only can another flight path be found here, but also class and some profession trainers giving you the opportunity to take care of business before moving on.

After once again being thwarted by the Worgen the Dark Lady refuses to underestimate them again and as a result wants to step things up a notch. You as one of her most trusted soldiers will be sent to the Forsaken Froward Command in Gilneas with the quest “To Forsaken Forward Command” in order to hopefully once and for all eliminate the Worgen threat.

Forsaken Forward Command

  • Location: Phased Gilneas (4)
  • Available Quests: Nine
  • Elite/Group Quests: None
  • Tips: While questing around the Forsaken Forward Command be on the look out for Korok the Colossus a level 15 elite Ettin that will gladly stomp your face  if given a chance.

Despite the best efforts of you and the Forsaken the Alliance have managed to wipe out the Forsaken Forward Command. You will receive forewarning in the shape of the quest “Fall Back!“ and instead make your way to Emberstone Village.

Emberstone Village

  • Location: Phased Gilneas (5)
  • Available Quests: Three
  • Elite/Group Quests: None
  • Tips: Avoid the main roadway and areas nearby unless completing quests as elite Worgen guards patrol this area.

While Gilneas is lost for the moment the Forsaken have made great strides to ensure that it will once again be theirs. For the moment though it’s time to make your exit with the quest “The Great Escape” which will take you back to the Banshee Queen at the Forsaken Front. Here you will focus your attention on the pesky mages of Ambermill.

The Forsaken Front

  • Location: Location: See Zone Map (6)
  • Available Quests: Twenty-Four
  • Elite/Group Quests: None

After some tense moments and what seems to be a Forsaken victory at the Forsaken Front you will receive two breadcrumb quests (“Warchief’s Commad: Hillsbrad Foothills” and “Empire of Dirt”) that will lead you onward in your questing journey to the neighboring zone of Hillsbrad Foothills. Congratulations on completing Silverpine.
