Shortly following the Cataclysm the giant lava river seemed like a mere nuisence when the once totally Horde zone was invaded by Alliance forces. Camp Taurajo has been burnt to the ground and the zone is now considered to be “contested”. On a brighter note the seemingly endless searching of Mankrik for his beloved wife’s body has finally come to an end and thanks to the tireless efforts of the Druid Naralex the southern part of the zone has been revived from it’s desert state into a lush oasis. However, most of the zone still resembles the rugged African savannah.
Several breadcrumb quests can be found that lead to the Northern Barrens including “Conscript of the Horde”, “Warchief’s Command: Northern Barrens!” and “Preserving the Barrens” all of which can be obtained in the neighboring zone of Durotar. The Northern Barrens is also home to the Wailing Caverns, a five man instance for players levels 10-25.

Your questing experience in the Northern Barrens is over, and you are ready to move on and thankfully there is as per usual a breadcrumb quest to lead you onward. While you have already left the Crossroads far behind at least one more visit is in order. Here at level 19 the quest “To The Mor’shan Rampart” opens effectively leading players into Ashenvale. Don’t feel like heading back to the Crossroads? Seek out the nearest Warchief’s Command board where you will find the quest “Warchief’s Command: Ashenvale!”. Congratulations on a successful completion of the zone!

Azshara is the second zone choice on Kalimdor players have while leveling from 10-20. Until very recently had been reserved for players levels of higher levels. While the level range of Azshara has certainly changed, the overall feel of the zone has not. Cloaked in seemingly eternal Autumn Azshara is a mixture of romance and gloom. Named after the infamous Queen Azshara, the zone has recently been turned over the Goblins of the Bligewater Cartel, the Horde’s newest allies. In typical Goblin fashion the new inhabitants have taken it upon themselves to blast apart the zone to suit their fancy, turning it into a giant Horde symbol, to prove their allegiance to the Horde. This raping of the landscape has angered the Night Elf forces here and as such they have launched an all out attack on the Horde in the zone. However, another set of new inhabitants who have taken over the northern reaches of the zone pose an ever greater threat to both Horde and Alliance alike. The Black Dragonflight, bent on hunting down Azuregos, along with the Naga who have also made their home in Azshara are a formidable problem indeed. Azshara is considered a contested zone, belonging to neither Horde nor Alliance, and currently has no active instances. Players who wish to venture into this zone will find that breadcrumb quest at the nearest Warchief’s Command Board, found in either Thunder Bluff or Orgrimmar. This board will provide you with the quest “Warcheif’s Command: Azshara!” which will lead you to the very first quest hub in the zone located at the newly made rear gate to Orgrimmar. Orgrimmar Rear Gate
Assuming the player completes all the quests at Orgrimmar’s Rear Gate they will have two quests, “Return of the Highborne?” and “Report to Horzak”, leading them to the nearby Orgrimmar’s Rocketway Exchange, one of the many stops of the Goblin Rocketway. Quests found here relate to the nearby Mountainfoot Strip Mine. Orgrimmar Rocketway Exchange
Complete all the quests at the Orgrimmar’s Rocetway Exchange to unlock the quest “Another Warm Body” which will send you on your way to the next quest hub at Forlorn Ridge. Here you will explore the Ruins of Eldarath and help exterminate the Naga forces there. Gallywix Defense Post
After completing various quests that allow you to wipe out large numbers of Naga and learn of a very valuable object the quest “Private Chat” will become available and you will be sent back to the Orgrimmar Rocketway Exchange. Orgrimmar Rocketway Exchange (2)
Helping take care of a rather pesky bulldozer will make players more than ready to once again be leaving the Orgrimmar Rocketway Exchange with the quest “Need More Science”. This time players will be headed off to the Southern Rocketway Terminus, and don’t forget you can use the Goblin Rocketway to get there twice as fast! Southern Rocketway Terminus
Complete the quests at the Southern Rocketway Terminus to unlock the quest “A Hello to Arms” which will take you away from the Naga, giant poo, and mass explosions that marked this quest hub to Bligewater Harbor for some more Goblin related fun. Bligewater Harbor
